Remodelling and refurbishment in Armenia and Quindío
We refurbish homes, retail units and institutional spaces: from fitting out a shop ready to open to the full remodelling of a house that no longer suits the people living in it.
Remodelling is harder than building from scratch, even though it costs less. You work on what is already there, often without drawings, and there is always something behind the wall that nobody anticipated. That is why whoever does the work should be able to read a structure, not just lay tiles.
What it covers
- Full remodelling. Space replanning, controlled demolition, new build and finishes.
- Retail fit-outs. Preparing commercial spaces, including services, lighting and compliance with use regulations.
- Structural strengthening. Work on elements that no longer provide the required capacity, when the refurbishment changes loads or opens up spans.
- Plumbing and electrical. Replacing old installations — in older houses usually the most worthwhile part of the whole job.
- Roofing and waterproofing. Roof repair or replacement and damp treatment.
- Infrastructure maintenance. Preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for institutional buildings.
Projects of this kind we have delivered
Full photographs are in the portfolio.
- Colegio Libre — Circasia, Quindío. Educational infrastructure upgrade, delivered around the academic calendar.
- Colegio San Vicente de Paúl — Génova, Quindío. Maintenance and upgrading of the school buildings.
School projects carry a constraint no other work has: you must hand over before the students come back. That is a good test of whether a company actually meets schedules or merely promises them.
How we avoid the cost-overrun surprise
In refurbishment, overruns almost always come from what was not checked before starting. So the initial survey includes a structural review, the condition of the services and a damp inspection, and the budget separates fixed scope from whatever depends on what turns up once demolition begins. You know from the outset what is firm and what is not.
Frequently asked questions
Can we live in the house during the works?
Sometimes yes, by phasing the work zone by zone. It depends on the scope and on
whether main services or the only bathroom are affected. We settle it during planning.
Can I open up an opening in a wall?
It depends on whether it is structural. If it is, it can be done with proper
strengthening — but that is not a decision to take on site without calculations.
Will you work to my architect's design?
Of course. We can also propose solutions if you do not have a design yet.
Tell us what you want to change and how big the space is. With that and a site visit we can give you a real budget, not an estimate that shifts later.
